Linda Kelley, Ed. S. is a certified school psychologist. She received her B. A. from Emmanuel College, Boston, and two master’s and a specialist’s Degree from Georgia State University. She completed an internship in the Cobb County Public Schools. She has conducted psychological assessments for twenty-two years in school settings (Cobb County; Holy Redeemer Catholic School, Alpharetta; Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School, Brookhaven), and in private practice (Child and Family Institute with Dr. Melinda Parrill), and currently in the office of Dr. Christine McGinnis.
As a learning specialist, Mrs. Kelley worked with students in the classroom setting (Atlanta Speech School) and privately. Her teaching goals included remediating learning deficits and empowering students to manage their learning weaknesses through strategy instruction. For forty years, Mrs. Kelley has been doing test preparation with students who are taking the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).
Mrs. Kelley has presented at schools to both parents and teachers, and she has spoken at numerous conferences—Georgia Independent Schools’ Association, Georgia Association of School Psychologists, Georgia Learning Disability Association, National Catholic Education Association, and the Oxford University Round Table. Her interests include prevention of early reading difficulties; learning disabilities (language-based, including dyslexia, and non-verbal learning disorders); affective disorders (anxiety, depression); and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
